%X Last year, the Department of Thoracic Surgery at the Shanghai Chest Hospital published its first annual report (1). Noticeably, it contained not only a remarkably large number of surgical cases and outstanding mortality rate after major thoracic procedures, but also details in evolution of thoracic surgery in general into each specific domains.
